WPC (wood-plastic composite) blends wood fibre with polymer, so it is more dimensionally stable, more moisture-tolerant and lower-maintenance than natural timber — it will not warp, cup or feed rot the way solid wood can in a damp room. Solid wood and real timber-veneer slats give you genuine grain, natural colour variation and the ability to be sanded and re-finished, but they want a dry, stable indoor environment. For high-moisture or high-traffic areas we steer you toward WPC or PVC; for a warm, natural feature wall in a living space, timber veneer is hard to beat. Acoustic slat panels are absorbers, not soundproofing. The felt backing soaks up mid and high frequencies, which noticeably cuts echo, harshness and reverberation inside a room — great for offices, media rooms, home theatres and open living spaces. They do not fully block sound from passing through a wall to the next room; true soundproofing needs mass and isolation in the wall build-up itself. NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) is a 0 to 1 scale for how much sound a material absorbs — the higher the number, the more it absorbs. Where an NRC figure applies to a specific panel it is shown on that product's page; if you have a particular acoustic target, contact us and we'll help you choose.

Many of our PVC panels are water-resistant and suited to both indoor and outdoor decorative use, including higher-moisture spaces. Suitability varies by product, so check the individual product details for the material and finish. Through a hidden interlocking tongue-and-groove perimeter. The flat lip edge of one panel slides under the overlapping flute profile of the panel before it. Pulled tight, the joint hides inside the slat-valley shadow line, so the wall reads as one infinite, uniform flow rather than a series of separate boards.

Laser-verify the very first (starter) panel. A 1 mm deviation at the start multiplies across the whole layout, so getting the starter dead level and plumb is the single most important step.

For most panels a high-tack, gap-filling construction adhesive (the kind sold in a caulking-gun cartridge for panelling and mouldings) is the right choice — applied in a vertical zig-zag or grid on the back of the panel and pressed onto a clean, dry, flat surface. On ceilings and heavy feature walls, pair the adhesive with mechanical fasteners for the Dual-Secure hold. Peel-and-stick tiles already carry their own commercial adhesive and need no extra glue on a suitable smooth surface. Because the ideal product varies with your wall type and panel, check the product details and, if you're unsure, contact us and we'll point you to the right adhesive.

Turn the power off at the breaker first. Measure the opening carefully, transfer the cut-out onto the panel, and cut it with a fine-tooth blade or a rotary tool so the plate opening is clean. Panels add thickness to the wall, so you will usually need to bring the outlet or switch box forward with a box extender and use slightly longer screws so the device sits flush with the new surface. If in doubt, have a qualified electrician handle the electrical side.

Yes, but fix into structure, not into the panel. The panels themselves are a decorative finish and are not a structural mounting surface. For a TV bracket, floating shelves or anything that carries weight, locate the studs (or solid blocking) behind the panel and drive the mount's fasteners through the panel into that framing. For a flush look, some installers plan heavy fixtures in advance and add blocking in the wall before panelling. For big or heavy TVs, follow the bracket manufacturer's fixing guidance.

One of the main advantages of PVC and WPC panelling is how light it is compared with real timber, stone or ceramic, which is exactly why it can go on ceilings safely. On a sound, flat wall many panels bond with construction adhesive alone. For overhead work, feature walls and anything load-bearing, we recommend the Dual-Secure Method — adhesive plus mechanical fasteners driven into studs, joists or solid blocking. Anything you later hang off the wall (TV, shelving) must be fixed into that framing rather than the panel face.

Fluted slat panels have some flexibility along their length and can follow a gentle curve or wrap a column, which is a popular way to finish reception desks, islands and rounded feature walls. Tighter radii are easier with narrower slat profiles and with the felt-backed acoustic slats, which flex more readily than rigid solid boards. For a very tight curve, contact us with the radius and we'll advise which panel in the range bends best for your project.

Peel-and-stick tiles use a strong commercial adhesive designed to stay put, so treat them as a long-term finish rather than a temporary one. To remove them later, warming the tile gently with a hair dryer softens the adhesive so it peels more cleanly, and a plastic scraper lifts the edges. Any adhesive residue can be worked off with a suitable adhesive remover. On sound, well-painted drywall this is usually clean, but because the tiles bond aggressively there is always some risk of pulling paint or the paper face on fragile or freshly painted walls — plan for a little touch-up. If you need something genuinely removable, contact us before ordering.

Most of our decorative wall panels are a straightforward glue-and-stick, DIY-friendly install — you apply a suitable construction adhesive to the back and press the panel onto a clean, dry, flat surface. Only products stamped Waterproof Outdoor / Co-Extruded WPC are exterior-rated. Our premium outdoor line is built to endure freeze-thaw cycles down to -40°C without splitting, twisting or turning brittle.

Interior acoustic felt lines must never be used outside — the porous felt retains moisture and fails. If a product is not explicitly rated for exterior use, keep it indoors.

Our outdoor composite lines carry a UV-inhibiting capped co-extrusion shield that blocks UV and prevents degradation, bleaching and peeling. Some minor colour settling can occur over a decade of permanent, high UV exposure, but the capped technology avoids the intense fading you see on basic, unshielded plastics.

Verify a true Capped Co-Extrusion Layer. Uncapped WPC lacks that protective shield and is porous like open timber — it absorbs moisture, rain and ice, which leads to deep organic staining and structural mildew. The cap is what makes a composite genuinely exterior-durable, so it is the first thing to confirm before buying for an outdoor project.

Smooth, clean drywall is ideal.

Existing ceramic works only if it is flat, sound and degreased (a TSP wash) — but deep grout lines will telegraph through and sink, so a very tiled surface is not a great candidate.

Textured drywall (knockdown or orange peel) is not compatible: the adhesive can only grip the high points. Sand the texture flat and clean it first.

Our PVC and WPC lines carry fire-retardant listings, but they are engineered polymer composites and must never be exposed to roughly 60°C (140°F) constant heat or to direct flame. Behind a range top, keep a 6-inch air clearance from the burner zone, or fit a stainless-steel or tempered-glass splash guard over that zone. Keep the panels away from the firebox opening of a fireplace. When in doubt about clearances, follow the appliance manufacturer's specifications.

No. The porous polyester felt backing traps moisture in showers and unventilated baths, which leads to mold and adhesive breakdown. For a full bathroom or shower, use our 100% waterproof interlocking solid PVC panels instead — they are made for exactly that wet environment.

Basements are one of the best uses for our waterproof PVC and UV marble panels — they are 100% waterproof and humidity-resistant, so they shrug off the damp that would swell or rot MDF and timber. Make sure the wall itself is dry and free of active water ingress first (panelling over a leaking foundation only hides the problem). For a finished, warm look with some acoustic calm, felt-backed slats can work in a dry, well-ventilated finished basement, but keep them out of any genuinely damp or wet area.

Because families rightly care about air quality in a child's room, choose a low-odour construction adhesive and ventilate the room well during and after installation while everything cures. Our PVC and WPC lines carry fire-retardant listings, meaning they are formulated to resist ignition and slow flame spread — but they are still polymer composites, not a fireproof material. They must be kept away from direct flame and from sustained heat above roughly 60°C (140°F), and they are not a substitute for a code-required fire-rated assembly. For solid PVC and UV Marble sheets: score the face three to four times with a heavy utility knife against a metal straightedge, then snap the panel along the score.

For fluted acoustic wood slats: use a fine-tooth miter saw or jigsaw fitted with a 60-tooth-or-higher carbide laminate blade, cutting through the front face. Cut the felt backing separately with a fresh utility blade or carpet shears.

Pro tip: run a strip of low-tack painter's tape along the cut line to keep the veneer edges crisp and chip-free.

Use matching, colour-coordinated finishing trims. We offer L-shape metal trims, universal end-caps and exterior corner mouldings across the collections to cap raw edges and turn corners cleanly. Alternatively, sand the cut edges with a fine grit and touch them up with a colour-matched paint or a wood-finish marker so the trimmed edge disappears.

Work out your wall area, then divide by the coverage of your chosen panel:

Total Sq Ft = Height (ft) × Width (ft)

Divide that total by the per-box coverage listed for your chosen line to get the number of boxes. Then add a 10–15% overage buffer to cover cutting waste, trimming, corners and the occasional mistake. Ordering the buffer up front means every box is from the same production batch, so colour and texture match perfectly.

Each product page lists the coverage for that line — either the area a single box covers or the dimensions of an individual panel, so you can divide your wall area straight into it. Panel sizes vary between the PVC, fluted, acoustic and peel-and-stick ranges, so always use the figure on the exact product you're buying rather than assuming. For everyday care, wipe the panels with a soft, damp cloth. PVC and UV marble surfaces are waterproof and easy to keep clean — a little mild soapy water lifts most marks, then wipe dry. Avoid abrasive scouring pads and harsh solvents, which can dull or scratch the finish. For felt-backed acoustic panels, keep them dry and simply dust or gently vacuum the felt with a soft brush attachment rather than getting them wet. With this basic care the panels stay looking new for years with no sealing or refinishing required.

Like most building materials, composite and PVC panels move very slightly with big swings in temperature, which is why acclimatizing them flat in the room for at least 48 hours before installing matters. It is good practice to leave a small expansion gap at the edges — where the panelling meets floors, ceilings and adjoining walls — and then hide that gap under trim, skirting or an end-cap. This lets the panels move imperceptibly without buckling. Follow the specific gap guidance for your product, and for outdoor composite installations leave the gap the exterior line calls for.

The panels are designed to be a finished product — the colour and texture are the whole point, so most customers never paint them. If you do want to change the colour, a smooth PVC or composite surface needs proper prep: a light scuff-sand to give a key, a good-quality adhesion primer made for plastics, and then a durable topcoat. Test on an offcut first, because results vary with the exact surface and paint. For small touch-ups on trimmed edges, a colour-matched paint or wood-finish marker is usually all you need.

Oversized, heavy materials can pick up minor cosmetic edge or packaging marks in transit. In around 95% of installs those perimeter edges are trimmed away anyway when the panels are cut to fit, so a small scuff on an edge rarely affects the finished wall. For deep, noticeable damage on the face of a panel, photograph it immediately and contact support — we'll arrange a fast exchange.
